Home Agent's Notes Many of you may have cleaning and relining your kitchen cabinet drawers on your list of chores to get done soon. Maybe you are including this job in your spring-clean list of things to do. When you go to work on the drawers, remember just spreading plastic coated paper or self-adhering plastic flat on the bottom of the drawer is only a half-way measure.

For a really top-notch job, the inside of each drawer needs a "slip cover" with turned up sides and mitred corners so crumbs, seasonings and dust can't creep under the liner or into corners. Such a slip-cover requires a little extra trouble, but I be lieve you will find it pays big dividends. Here's how to make a -corner liner: Mark off the exact dimensions of the drawer in heavy pencil on the wrong side of washable shelf paper, or on the paper-protected back of selfadhering plastic. Cut outside the lines, leaving a border of about 3 or 4 extra inches on all four sides. This margin will form the sides of the finished drawer liner.

Next, crease the material along all the pencil lines, folding it toward the right side. Then, at each corner, fold the tip of the paper forward until it touches the point at which the two pencil lines meet. Snip off the resulting triangle. Now bring two adjacent creases together, fold the "extra" material flat against the outside, and attach it there with cellophane tape. Or, if you are using self-adhering plastic, strip off just enough backing so it will adhere against itself.

is home after being in the hospital. Mr. Jessie Bedwell and Mrs. Gene Watson visited Mrs. Audrey McCain in the University Hospital, Jackson, Tuesday of last week.

Don't peel off the remainder of the protective paper backing until you are ready to actually line the drawer. When you have mitred and fastened all four corners to neat right angles, your box type liner is ready to be fitted into the drawer. This smooth, crevice-free surface simplifies cleaning. Protect Newly Planted Shade Trees To protect those young shade trees you planted this winter do two things: 1. Spray the trunk of your small trees with either 50 percent.

DDT wettable powder or 20 percent lindane emulsion. Mix cupful of DDT or 2 tablespoons of lindane to each gallon of water. Thoroughly wet trunk and large limbs of tree. These insecticides last a long time and kill newly hatched insects before they can enter the bark. 2.

Wrap the tree trunk with heavy duty brown wrapping paper. Next spring (1966) remove paper, retreat trunk and rewrap. At the end of two years, your tree should be growing vigorously and not need further protection. If you don't wrap your tree, spray trunk and large limbs every 3 weeks during the summer.
